Imagine having friends on both side of the vaccine debate; friendships or families breaking up simply because they are all getting different information and can't see eye to eye. Imagine knowing a number of people with severe chronic illnesses of all sorts, isolated, marginalized and misunderstood long before COVID when "social distancing" and "isolation" became popular things!
Imagine thinking that these folks would surely be considered exempt from COVID vaccination, since vaccination brings with it harms that are more certain than the remote possibility of a COVID infection for those already so isolated.
This knowing that IF they should get ill with COVID -19, there would soon be safe & effective treatments available in Canada, as they are elsewhere.
Then, imagine reading that physicians are ORDERED by their Colleges NOT to provide this safe & effective treatment AND also NOT to provide exemptions to anyone seeking them (except perhaps if they nearly die from the first shot!!!)
The very thought of withholding lifegiving treatment for the dying AND of forcing the people in my life to take a shot that is KNOWN to damage the very body systems that have been fragile for decades
(cardio, pulmonary, endocrine, neurologic, etc.) angered me to the point of looking at the references used by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta. This lead me to the realization that those MAKING policy appear totally oblivious to the findings in the field.
As an educator, resource developer, and decades long advocate for loved ones in their journeys through the Health Care System, and having spent some time in government, I began to track down the flow of information. Who knew what when? Who should have known what when?
Privileged with good heath, stamina, endurance and some
time on my hands, I put the various research, detective & critical thinking skills that hark back to the days of my B.Ed, and M.Ed degrees to new uses! I set out to answer the question... Why do policy makers seem to have NO clue about what is going on with these vaccine products out in the field?
